I have used lip crayons before and this is the very first time I am using something like this. The moment I heard these lip balms were out in India, I was very excited to try them out and bought just 2 of them, one in matte and one in lacquer. I am sure by now most of the bloggers have posted about this.
I found these lip balms from lifestyle store in Forum Mall, but now even the H&G has these lip balms stored. I bought these lip balms in the beginning of the month, I waited this long so I could try them out properly before giving the review. Both matte and lacquer lip balms are priced at INR800 for 2.7 gm.
These lip balms have cello tape stuck, something to show that it is a new product. I really wish the whole lip balm came in the plastic packaging so that we as customers would know that somebody hasn't used the lip balm earlier. This cello tape is so easy to remove, use and put it back in place. I mean considering the price I am paying for this product and a top international brand, I expect atleast the packaging to be good. Ok! enough of me grumbling, let us get to the product.
Standout Remarquable:
When the SA showed me all the 16 lip balms; 8 in matte and 8 in lacquer and after having tried swatches for all, the one that impressed me the most was Standout Remarquable. It is a beautiful deep red in color. This a matte lip balm, having said that, it didn't make my lips dry at all. Most of the matte lipsticks after application feels very dry on the lips and also settles on the lines. There was no such thing with this lip balm.
This lip balm is very moisturizing and has pepperminty flavor which lasts for about few minutes. The pepperminty flavor is used to plump up the lips. The lip balm is so moisturizing and it just glides on the lips. The lip balm is very pigmented which I love and is completely opaque. The color lasts for up to 3 to 4 hrs, after having my dinner, the color started fading. The good part is that the color fades out evenly and does not leave ugly patches.
Whimsical Fantaisiste:
Since I already chose a matte one, I had to choose one in lacquer. I chose this lovely mauve purplish shade. The lacquer ones have shimmer in them. These lip balms also have a pepperminty flavour and also very moisturizing like the matte partners. These lip balms also fades evenly and do not settle on fine lines. The only issue with this is, it doesn't last more than 1 or 2 and if you have something to eat in between, it starts to fade more quickly and only the shimmer remains. It is also not as pigmented as the matte ones. Hence the need to reapply after every 1hr or so.
Love both the products. Yes even the lacquer one even if it means reapplying. The price is on the expensive side and I am sure would last really long.
Hope you all this review? Have you tried these shades? Please leave your comment below.

April Haul- Revlon, Maybelline, Dirty Works and much moreOK.... just to be clear I didn't buy all these products at the same time...Some of these products I bought online and some from different stores at different times. So it's more like a collective haul. I am very excited to share this month's haul with you all. It's been a huge shopping for me. Hope you all like it.
1. Socks: I was actually looking for a fancy purse in Lifestyle Forum mall and these socks were placed right next to the purses. I didn't buy the purse but bought these cute looking socks from Ginger priced at INR99 each. One pair is black with red roses and the other is baby pink self embroidered. You might still be able to find these on sale. There were other cute looking ones but I just bought two.
2. Fan brush: I stopped at Health and Glow to check if they had the new Revlon Matte and Lacquer Lip balms. Unfortunately they didn't have it. I bought this fan brush cause I needed a brush for the highlighter. This is priced at INR80.
3. Maybelline Baby Lips: I bought the Maybelline Baby Lips in Tangerine pop with SPF 16 from H&G store. I checked the other flavors and most of them were nearing expiry so had to be content with only this one. Price is INR150
4. Green earrings: This I desperately needed for a family function and I needed a big Chunky earring as it is the only piece of jewellery I would be wearing. I didn't have time to go shop and so I bought it from a fancy store nearby. I was surprised to find they stored some pretty nice jewellery and necklaces. Overall happy!! I think this was around INR150
5. Dirty Works Buttery Salt Scrub: I have heard about this brand for the first time. It is a UK based brand. I have been wanting to get the Chocomania from The Body Shop, but since these were not sale and it is quite expensive for me otherwise, I found a cheaper alternative. I found the Dirty Works Buttery Salt Scrub, It is almost 50% cheaper and also is slightly higher in quantity. The packaging looked kind of retro, something like Soap&Glory ( I am yet to own one!:-().. So for its affordable price and great quantity, I bought it.
6. Dirty Works Hand Cream: I needed a hand cream as my previous hand cream was almost getting over and since I was already ordering the Body scrub from the same brand I decided to go with this one as well. I ordered the Dirty Works Buttery Salt Scrub and the Dirty Works Hand cream from fashion and you online website (link here) and it was on a sale.
7. Revlon Matte and Lacquer Balms: This was the favorite part of my purchase. Continuing my search for Revlon Matte and Lacquer Balms and after all the shopping in the mall, I decided to check the Lifestyle store. I jumped with joy when the SA showed these jewels to me. They have 8 shades for matte and 8 for lacquer(swatch below). I bought just 2. One in Matte and one in Lacquer. I bought 'Standout Remarquable' shade# 250 which is a lovely Matte red and 'Whimsical Fantaisiste' shade # 115 from the Lacquer collection which is a berry shade with shimmer. They are priced at INR800 each.
8. Revlon Eye-shadows: Like the Lip balms weren't enough I landed up buying these cute eyeshadows. This is really an awesome idea from Revlon, usually you get eye shadows in singles or in a palette. Here you can choose colors of your choice and make your own palette. Yes you heard it right ... you can connect all these singles and have your own palette.I bought 3 of them 'Onyx' shade#300, 'Java' shade#280, and 'Plum' shade#110. Out of the 3 only the Plum is matte. At INR 175 each, it super affordable.
9. Nail Polishes: I bought the green Elle to suit the color of my dress for the function. The Eyetex Dazzler looked green under the store lights ... now it kinda looks bluish.:-( and finally the shimmer which I purchased is mainly for my nail art. All these were bought from a Fancy Store near my home. Prices: Elle- 50INR , Eyetex Dazzler- 40INR, Shimmer nail polish- 30INR
Phew, that was a long post ...

Maybelline New York Clear glow Shine free B.B Stick Review
I never used foundations creams and still don't use them. Somehow the idea of blending or selecting the right shade scares me and seeing few people wearing the incorrect foundation shade, they look like ghost with all that white cast.. Ewww!. So I use only foundation in pressed powder form or a tinted moisturizer. So you must have seen this product on my February haul... So when the SA at Health and Glow store told me about this BB stick I was sold..I never knew something like BB cream ever existed (okk.. it has been in market for sometime, but I never knew). All I knew was the foundation in powder, cream or lotion form, concealer, tinted moisturizer, primer.. So I was curious and found out a little more about what this BB is all about.
What is BB all about? BB Cream is a popular all-in-one cosmetic that often acts as a moisturizer, primer, and light foundation. It is better than foundation or tinted Moisturizer. An all-in-one moisturizer combining skincare with mineral pigments to even skin tone, illuminate, cover imperfections.. Great isn't it!!
My Love for Maybelline: I always have special corner for Maybelline products as they always have such great products, with amazing quality at an affordable price, be it their foundation pressed powder, lip glosses, Mascara, Tinted glosses, eyeshadow, Kajal, make up remover, nail polishes.I love them all!!!. I have used most of their products I am yet to get their eye shadows though :-(. Btw Maybelline also has a BB cream if you want to try.
My Review: The BB stick comes in a dull blue bullet with a matching plastic see through cap. The BB stick works similarly to a lipstick, so you need to turn the bottom of the bullet in order to use the BB stick. Unlike the lipstick the product does not go in completely, so you kinda see a bit through the plastic cover.
The shade I purchased is Fawn 04. The SA agent convinced me it was the right shade and with all those dim lighting in the store it looked right .. in any case at that point they didn't have any other shade:-(.
The product is very smooth and is very easy to blend and gives a matte finish. (I used my fingers to blend). The product is very light and after applying you don't feel like you applied it on your face. It also micro minerals which is used to even out the skin tone and cover spots. It has medium coverage but the product is build-able. It also has SPF 21 so if you are outside for just 1 or 2 hrs you don't have to worry about the sunscreen except if you have a very sensitive skin. The product is shine free and hence suitable even for oily skin. With the BB stick I don't use a moisturizer.
I tried this product so many times now and I love it for it's usage, somehow it looks a bit darker on my face ... Looks likeI have to go in for the Radiance shade. So, if you have a fair or wheatish complexion, I would suggest you to go in for the Radiance shade.
It's a great product, I think you all should give it a try at least for its usability.
Pros:
1. Easy to use bullet.
2. The product is very light.
3. The formula is so smooth and easy to blend
4. Medium coverage, but it's buildable.
5. Shine free - suitable even for oily skin
6. Has SPF 21 suitable for short period outdoors.
7. Very affordable. Price INR 250 for 10gm
Cons:
Available in only 2 shades :-(.
Maybelline has only two shades in India Fawn and Radiance. I don't know what made them think only these two shades would suit all Indian skin tones ... ridiculous!

L'oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Extra Black Mascara Review
I love mascaras. They really make the eyes looks so beautiful and fresh and an instant step- up to glamour. When in hurry using just kajal, Masacra and lip balm can make you look ready, be it an interview, or casual office wear or just meeting a friend or a date... I used to use mascara only for occasions until I met the ONE (you can really see from the pic how much I have actually used this mascara:-).. the lettering and the color is almost gone.)
What it claims: Don’t just volumize, millionize your lashes with our New mascara: Volume Million Lashes.
The Millionizer brush has a multitude of bristles to separate lashes for a fanned-out lash effect. The elastomer applicator is ultra flexible with both long and short bristles to coat each lash evenly from root to tip.The excess wiper removes excess mascara. It leaves the brush coated with just the right amount of formula to achieve maxed up volume with no overload and no clumps.
Ingredients List: Aqua/Water, Paraffin, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Cera Alba/Beeswax, Cera Carnauba/Carnauba Wax, Acacia Senegal/Acacia Senegal Gum, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, PEG/PPG-17/18 Dimethicone, Steareth-20, Phenethyl Alcohol, Sodium Polymethacrylate, Propylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Disodium EDTA, Polyquaternium-10, Soluble Collagen, Silica, Panthenol, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, Atelocollagen. May Contain: CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499/Iron Oxides, Mica, CI 75470/Carmine, CI 77288/Chromium Oxide Greens, CI 77289/Chromium Hydroxide Green, CI 77007/Ultramarines, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, CI 77510/Ferric Ferrocyanide.
My Review: The L'oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Extra Black Mascara comes in a very attractive black and gold packaging. (The two colors that I love.!!). The name of the product is emboldened along its length. So the most important thing is the brush, It's so amazing and this tube comes with an inbuilt wiper and hence doesn't pick up any excess product (the lettering about the wiper is gone on mine due to usage:-(). The brush comes with tiny plastic bristles and gives both volume and length to the lashes. The product is build-able and can be used to give the desired length and effect. The brush however doesn't manage to catch the very tiny lashes near the inner corners.
Once applied the lashes looks so neat, clean and defined lashes. I have tried many ways: just one application, repeated application, after using curler... it works so beautifully with each one of them.. In just one application you can notice the difference, no clumps and smudges and no spikey look and also doesn't weigh down your lashes. The mascara can be easily removed using a make up remover (with water I need to wash it a couple of times)
Pros:
1. Attractive packaging
2. Amazing brush which does not pick up excess product
3. Good volume and length
4. Easily removable with a make up remover.
5. Water-resistant.
6. Neat, clean and defined lashes
7. Doesn't weigh down your lashes
8. Price when I bought it was 699 INR for 9 ml. I think it is 775 - 800 INR now
Cons:
Doesn't coat the tiny lashes at inner corner.
Rating: 4.75/5
Will you buy this product? I definitely will .... Loooovveee it!

Maybelline Colorama- Nude Review
Hope you all are having a good weekend. I was just bored today and decided to paint my nails.. My previous nail colour had worn off, and it was bright and pink and it was a colorama too... sorry didnt click the pictures... so I needed something more pale... so I painted my nails nude :-).
I bought this colour when I was in Bangalore and was 85INR then... The color attracted me right away... My friends at work all love the color and I gifted my bestie the same too for her b'day apart from other things:-)...
My Review: This Nude nail color is from coloram Maybelline collection..I think these are one of the few colors that you can wear for any occasion without looking weird... another color which I like and which can be used anywhere and anytime would be Astral from the Maybelline Colorama collection( Review here )...I think these two nail polishes are just awesome and everyone should own them in their nail polish collection... These colors are great for office wear and suits both Western and Indian formal wear.
Coming to the Nude Nail Polish.. It is an 8 ml bottle. The color is pale with a slight pinkish tinge... it looks somewhat like desert rose.. The brush is awesome and gives a good finish. you might find some slight streaks in the picture and that's because my nail polish is almost getting over (I just have enough to apply just one more time). I applied two coats and it's opaque..
The entire colorama range from Maybelline is so affordable and not at all heavy on pockets and especially for people who are into nail arts... now the newer Color Show from Maybelline is still cheaper (I will review it soon).. anyways this a great buy for anyone and would suit all ages :-)
Pros:
1. Lovely color.
2. Two coats is enough for full coverage.
3. suits all ages
4. suitable for office wear both western and Indian.
Cons:
Can't think of any.
Rating: 5/5
Will you buy this product?: The last time I checked this wasn't available. If available I will definitely buy it...

Maybelline Colorama Astral Nail Polish Review
Today I would be reviewing about a Nail Polish and I guess this my second blog on make up. So, far I have done only skin care products. Anyways coming to the nail polishes... I never was that interested in nail polishes though I had strong long nails and I only once in a while painted them, that too when I get a mani and pedi done... yeah I can be pretty lazy that way ..
One day my colleague wore a beautiful mint green from the colorama collection and it looked so beautiful on her toes that I wanted to purchase it immediately and so over the weekend I visited the Health and Glow in my area.. The mint green one wasn't available, was disappointed and then my eyes fell on this gorgeous color.... It's pale and the palest pink you can find... and, I didn't even bother testing it as I was so happy with the color.
Maybelline colorama comes in so many different shades and also with and without shimmer and is also quite cheap. When I bought this the price for 8 ml was just 85 INR.
My Review:
This nail polish is a very pale and almost a nude pink. The pictures above were taken under sunlight. The polish is very smooth and is very to easy apply. The nail polish is very sheer and might require 3 coats for complete coverage. It does not give any streaks. In the picture below I have applied 3 coats and it looks like a natural nail color. This nail polish can also be used as a base for french manicure. The color is so pleasant, elegant and professional and can be used for daily office wear. Overall thumbs up for such awesome color and for its multi-usability. Might not suit the toe nails though
Pros:
1. Awesome color
2. The product is smooth and glossy.
3. Inexpensive
4. Multi-usability: French manicure and daily office wear.
Cons:
1. Might not suit toe nails.
2. Require 3 coats or more for coverage.

February Haul- Random Essentials
Hi lovelies,
This weekend I had an awesome time with my family. We went to Ampa mall and decided to look around. The moment we got down, we were so confused as to which way to enter the mall. This mall had a side entrance but there was some work going on and a huge traffic and the security directed us to enter the mall from the parking lot. Phew!! what a tiring walk.
I have been to this mall earlier but just once, so I was pretty excited. I saw The Body Shop store on the ground floor and I rushed to buy some products. I wanted the gloves so badly... but sadly it was not on sale.. Heard so many great reviews about chocomania and the Peach scrub as well.. they were out of stock.. :-(. This is what I got.
Looking through their collection and I saw the Rainforest shampoo.. For all who don't know I have extremely dry hair and also hairfall.. Well I did try a number of shampoos, and I am still in search for The ONE.I saw this Rainforest Moisture shampoo and the label read No SILICONES, NO SULFATES , NO PARABENS. I know that sulfates are bad for the hair, but most of the shampoos sold here in India all have sulfates or they are priced high... I had heard so many great reviews about this shampoo and decided to try this. I already have 600ml Tresemme Shampoo and hence decided to buy only the 250ml.
There are not much beauty brands in this mall. Next we went to Parcos and tried a couple of perfumes.
Loved the L'eau d'Issey Issey Miyake for women, but I didn't buy.. Have a lot of perfumes and mist in stock, that I felt guilty buying. Yeah , Yeah I have to review them. Given below is the picture of perfume I tried.
Visited the Health and Glow store and bought the Chambor Lip gloss,Maybelline Make up remover, Maybelline Clear glow Shine free clear stick, Maybelline Collossal Mascara. Finally purchased some groceries from Star Bazzar and had our lunch at Kumarakom. You guys should try this place if you want to taste authentic Kerala cuisine.
So, Did you all buy anything this weekend? please share.
Lancome Bi Facil Eye make up remover Review
I have never used eye make up remover before or infact any make up remover. I generally apply coconut oil or baby oil to remove my make up and wash my face using a regular cleanser and that was until my aunty from Canada gifted me this lovely Lancome remover.
What it claims: It is a Bi-Facil double action Eye make up remover. It suits all skin types. This double-Phase liquid is fresh as water, yet removes even waterproof eye make. Gentle enough for Sensitive eyes. Ophthalmologist- tested. Shake well before each use.
How to use: shake the bottle well, dab a little amount of liquid on a cotton pad and place the cotton pad on the eye for a few seconds and then swipe.
My review: It comes in a blue transparent bottle with a child lock cap. This is great for travelling and doesn't allow liquid to spill, no leakage and doesn't get misused with children around and also that part that it is Ophthalmologist- tested gave me the courage to try this for the eyes.
This product is amazing. I know i know what you must be thinking that I don't have any other brands to compare it with and still praising this. You have to try it for yourself.
(L) -Lakme Kajal (R)- Maybelline Gel Liner Waterproof |
I have had no problems with eye make up remover be it the gel kohl or the water proof mascaras or deep eyeshadows, you name it and this removes it so easily in just easy swipes. The product seems slightly oil in beginning but leaves no residue after the swipe and the best part there is no tingling sensation at all. I even tried removing my face make up, Yes you heard it..since it is gentle for the eyes I tried it for the face and it doesn't cease to amaze me. Love Love it!
My product is going to get over and the price super super expensive to be able to buy again. I wish some
fairy god mother gifts me 2 or 3 bottles of this remover. Lucky to have such a lovely Aunt!
Pros:
- Amazing amazing product and removes even the harshest of the eye make up very easily.
- no tingling or burning sensation in the eye- Ophthalmologist- tested
- Bonus-- even works for the face as well.
- The product last long-- a little goes a long way
- Didn't have an ingredients list.
- Not easily available except in a few online stores.
- Super expensive

Oscar de la Renta- Rosamor perfume review
Who doesn't love a good perfume and that too if it is gifted!. Frankly speaking, this is the first time I am using this brand and decided to give this a try .. So here is my review.
Price: Gifted! (30 ml) :-)
Product Description:
Eau De Toilette; Vaporisateur- Natural Spray.
Ingredients:
Alcohol Denat. Parfum(Fragrance), Aqua
(water), Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Linalool, Ethylhexyl
Methoxycinnamte, Benzophenone-3, Butylphenyl Methylpropiona, Butyl
Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethyhexyl Salicylate, BHT, Hexyl Cinnamal,
Alpha-Methylionone, Coumarin, Citronellol, Hydroxycitronellal, Citral,
Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, C1 17200 (Red 33), C1 19140 (Yellow5), C1
60730 ( EXT Violet 2), "30G01-1".
My Experience:
This Rosamor comes in a beautiful packaging
with dark pink in front with pale pink at the sides. Rosamor is the
spanish words for rose and love are united in the name of the perfume. The perfume bottle is very pretty white bottle with magenta cap and a gold band below it. The liquid is pale pink. It sounds like too much pink, but trust me, they all are of different shades and interestingly put together. Love the bottle :-)
So just a little bit of history, for those unaware (including me ) I did a bit of googling on the brand.
Ă“scar ArĂstides Ortiz de la Renta Fiallo is one of the world's leading fashion designers. Trained by Cristobal Balenciaga and Antonio Castillo, he became internationally known in the 1960s as one of the couturiers to dress Jacqueline Kennedy.Oscar de La Renta is particularly known for his red carpet gowns and evening wear.
The top notes are mainly lily of the valley and freesia then it develops into a very pretty powderish rose. I am not in too much floral scented perfumes. This one is just perfect and smells lovely. It is a very delicate, feminine scent. The rose fragrance is very gentle here but it does not appear to be the leading note, so it would not be my first choice to recommend if you are looking for a rose perfume.
The drawback would be that the sillage is average and even the lasting power is not great. It lasted only about 2 hrs for me.
Pros:
- Love the bottle
- Love the color
- Very delicate and Feminine
Cons:
- Average Silage
- Average Lasting Power
Will I buy this Product again?
Yes, Definitely... Love the bottle and the color and the mild perfume.
